WATERTOWN, NY
- Last night your Glens Falls Golden Eagles faced off with the
Watertown Wizards, to end their three games, two night series against
the Western Conference opponent. Getting the ball for Glens Falls in
last night’s game was San Diego’s southpaw, Max MacNabb. Opposing
MacNabb for the home team would be Rob Curran a right-hander from The
University of Rhode Island.
Max MacNabb pitched
great last night as he went five innings, allowing seven hits and
three runs (1 earned) on the night. Also over the five innings he
walked three and struck out four of the twenty-four batters faced.
MacNabb out did Curran who went seven innings yet surrendered eleven
hits and six runs (five earned) to the Golden Eagles bats.
In relief of Max
MacNabb would be Georgia Southern pitcher Chris Myers and Golden
Eagles closer, Kyle Ruchim (Northwestern). Chris Myers ended up going
three innings of one hit, one run baseball K-ing two of the ten
batters faced. Kyle Ruchim closed it out pitching the ninth inning for
the Golden Eagles. On his way to his seventh save of the year Ruchim
Behind the solid
pitching and defense, the Golden Eagles offense was also able to help
out MacNabb on the mound. Golden Eagles, Kyle Ruchim (Northwestern),
David Olson (Tacoma CC), Mike Kindel (Kansas St.), and newly added P.J
Leto (Laureen B. Wallace CC), posted multi-hit games on the night.
Also Mike Kindel and P.J Leto recorded three hits apiece.
P.J Leto ended his
night with a home run in the third, rbi double in the fifth, and then
a single in the sixth before popping out to second in his final at bat
in the eighth. Mike Kindel recorded a single in the second, flew out
to left in the third, had an rbi single and later scored in the fifth,
a single in the seventh, and then struck out swinging in his final at
bat on the night.
With the win the
Golden Eagles improve to 22-11 as the Watertown Wizards fall to 12-22.
Max MacNabb gets the win and improves to 3-2 on the season whereas Rob
Curran receives the loss and falls to 3-4. The next game for the
Golden Eagles is today July 21st back at East Field in
Glens Falls versus the Cooperstown Hawkeyes at 7 o’clock.
