WATERTOWN, NY - Last night your Glens Falls Golden Eagles faced off with the Watertown Wizards, to end their three games, two night series against the Western Conference opponent. Getting the ball for Glens Falls in last night’s game was San Diego’s southpaw, Max MacNabb. Opposing MacNabb for the home team would be Rob Curran a right-hander from The University of Rhode Island.

Max MacNabb pitched great last night as he went five innings, allowing seven hits and three runs (1 earned) on the night. Also over the five innings he walked three and struck out four of the twenty-four batters faced. MacNabb out did Curran who went seven innings yet surrendered eleven hits and six runs (five earned) to the Golden Eagles bats.

In relief of Max MacNabb would be Georgia Southern pitcher Chris Myers and Golden Eagles closer, Kyle Ruchim (Northwestern). Chris Myers ended up going three innings of one hit, one run baseball K-ing two of the ten batters faced. Kyle Ruchim closed it out pitching the ninth inning for the Golden Eagles. On his way to his seventh save of the year Ruchim

Behind the solid pitching and defense, the Golden Eagles offense was also able to help out MacNabb on the mound. Golden Eagles, Kyle Ruchim (Northwestern), David Olson (Tacoma CC), Mike Kindel (Kansas St.), and newly added P.J Leto (Laureen B. Wallace CC), posted multi-hit games on the night. Also Mike Kindel and P.J Leto recorded three hits apiece.

P.J Leto ended his night with a home run in the third, rbi double in the fifth, and then a single in the sixth before popping out to second in his final at bat in the eighth. Mike Kindel recorded a single in the second, flew out to left in the third, had an rbi single and later scored in the fifth, a single in the seventh, and then struck out swinging in his final at bat on the night.

With the win the Golden Eagles improve to 22-11 as the Watertown Wizards fall to 12-22. Max MacNabb gets the win and improves to 3-2 on the season whereas Rob Curran receives the loss and falls to 3-4. The next game for the Golden Eagles is today July 21st back at East Field in Glens Falls versus the Cooperstown Hawkeyes at 7 o’clock.
