Amsterdam took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning as Josh Nethaway (UAlbany) scored on the DeMarcus Henderson (Mississippi State) RBI single into center field to give the Mohawks a 1-0 lead. It was Henderson’s seventh RBI on the season.

Amsterdam extended their lead to 2-0 in the top of the sixth inning off Golden Eagles reliever Max McNabb (Southern Maine). Catcher Parker Morin (Southern Idaho) led off the sixth with a single to center. Then with a 2-1 count, right fielder Josh Nethaway doubled one down the line scoring Parker Morin.

The Golden Eagles responded to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning. John Rooney (Siena) and Kyle Ruchim (Northwestern) got back-to-back singles to lead off the sixth. They advanced to second and third on the sacrifice bunt by Ricky Claudio (St. Thomas). Rooney then scored on the RBI ground out by right fielder David Olsen (UAlbany) to cut the Mohawks lead to 2-1. Left fielder Mike Kindel tied the game at 2-2 as he snuck one under the glove of Mohawks second baseman DeMarcus Henderson.

The game would remain tied until the Green RBI single in the ninth.
