GLENS FALLS, NY- Your Glens Falls Golden Eagles went back on the winning path Thursday night (7/7) with their victory over the West Division leading Elmira Pioneers. The final score to the contest was ten to seven.

Getting the start for the Golden Eagles was South Florida sophomore Nick Gonzalez. Nick went the required five innings, leaving after the fifth with the lead. Gonzalez on the night faced twenty-three batters and struck out five, allowing four runs (three earned), and walked three. In relief of Gonzalez was San Diego sophomore Max MacNabb. MacNabb was able to keep the lead in Glens Falls’ favor throughout his three innings of work. He went three innings striking out three of the thirteen batters faced. The last pitcher for the Golden Eagles on the night was newly acquired pitcher from Kansas State University, Kayvon Bahramzadeh. Arriving today in Glens Falls, Kayvon quickly got his name on the stat sheet as he came in to close out the Eagles 10-7 victory, earning his first save of the season in the ninth inning. Kayvon went one, striking out one of the four batters he faced.

On the offensive, the Golden Eagles were able to rack up ten runs on fifteen hits throughout the night, punishing the Elmira pitching staff. Clutch hitting came from Ricky Claudio (St. Thomas) who went (2-5) with two runs scored, Josh Anderson (Yavapai CC) who went (2-2) with two runs scored, Clayton Brown (Tacoma CC) who went (2-3) with two hits, a run scored, and two RBI, David Olson (Tacoma CC) who went (2-3) with two hits and an RBI as well.

The bottom of the Golden Eagles lineup also did not disappoint. The last four of the Golden Eagles order combined to go (6-15) with six hits, four runs batted in, and four runs scored. Northwestern’s Kyle Ruchim, and Southern Maine’s Anthony Pisani were the two hitters among the last four who posted multi-hit games on the night.

Your PGCBL Eastern Conference leading  Golden Eagles continue their season tomorrow night as they travel to Newark, New York to take on the Pilots. The game will start at 7 pm.
