GLENS FALLS—The first game of a twin bill between the first place Glens Falls Golden Eagles (19-6) and the third place Mohawk Valley Diamonddawgs (12-12), the three home doubleheader for Glens Falls this season and fourth overall, witnessed the Golden Eagles score two runs on four walks and one error in the fifth inning after trailing 1-0 for most of the seven-inning game.
Not since a doubleheader Watertown Wizards sweep had Glens Falls hosted a game at East Field. The Golden Eagles play 10 more home games this season.
Glens Falls three hits came on three singles, two from freshman infielder Eric Phillips (Georgia Southern) and one from junior outfielder Anthony Giansanti (Siena) leading off the bottom of the forth.
An unassisted 4-3 double play netted Giansanti, before sophomore Sean Lamont (Georgetown) walked and Phillips picked up his second straight single.
Junior catcher Gary DerHagopian (Siena) reached base on a fielder's choice in the second, outing Phillips in his first base hit back in the second to end the inning.
Both sophomore first basemen Ante Valdez (Central Arizona) and freshman second baseman Pepito Moreno (Pima C.C.) worked walks with one-out in the fifth. Both baserunners scored their 10th and 14th respectively. Giansanti and Lamont also walked before the inning concluded.

Glens Falls stranded six runners on the base while the Mohawk Valley left 10 Dawgs on the diamond with a pair of threes in the first and third. Mohawk Valley scored one run on three hits in the first, behind a Peters and Nugent singles and a double form Nick Soltis.
Both teams committed on error in game one.Junior lefty Chase Richard (Southern) notched his third win in four starts this summer, tossing five innings, striking out eight, walking two and allowing one earned run on five hits. Francis Brooke (Northwestern) earned his first save this season, the teams' six, pitching two scoreless innings of one-hit bullpen baseball. In relief this season, Brooke maintains a 1.80 ERA in seven innings.
