Golden Eagles Baseball Team, INC Internships now
available
Why might you want to intern with
the Golden Eagles of the New York Collegiate Baseball League?
Perhaps you love baseball and have a talent for management,
journalism, or marketing and you want to develop this talent outside
of classroom walls. More importantly, you need experience for your
job resume.
The Team Internship program
is for mature high school, college undergraduates or graduates.
Preference is given to students majoring in Sports Management,
Communications or Business.
The
Golden Eagles Baseball Team, INC is a non for profit College summer
baseball team, following NCAA rules and partially funded by Major
League Baseball through the New York Collegiate Baseball League. The
Golden Eagles Baseball Team, Inc. runs the Glens Falls Golden Eagles
in Glens Falls, New York at East Field Stadium.
Several Internship possibilities
available
·
1
paid full time intern to start As soon as possible. Hours of work 20
to 30 hours per week during off season. More during season.
Assistant to General Manager.
·
2
paid season interns from May 15 to August 10 work between 20 and 40
hours per week. Deal with all aspects of the operations. Helping out
the full time intern.
·
1
volunteer Photography intern. Provide team’s photography needs for
website, newspaper articles, yearbook, and other media and PR
opportunities.
·
1
volunteer Journalism intern. Be the written voice of the Golden
Eagles, published after each game on the website and weekly update
to area newspapers. Write articles for weekly newsletter.
·
In
addition 4 other volunteer interns to do on field promotions,
announcing, mascot escort and statistics/stat crew.
Essential
Duties/Responsibilities:
Interns
will be involved in all aspects of a sports team and how it
operates, under the direct supervision of team management as
directed by the General Manager.
Before
opening day:
• Plan
on-field fan events
• Participate
in fund raising and promotional events
• Organize game day operations
• Collect
gift certificates and prizes for raffle and on-field fan events
• Get
sponsorships
• Attend
weekly staff meetings
• Participate
in the preseason orientation for game day activities
During the season:
• Manage game day
operations for 21 home games
• Carry out the promotions and fan events
• Assist in player support
• Will be game night staff at home games
• Design inserts for game programs
• Write PA scripts for home games
• Manage all the needs of the team
End
of the season:
• Complete
sponsor appreciation
• Compile inventory for merchandise and uniform

affiliated with the New York Collegiate Baseball League.

Golden Eagles 2008
Full Time Internship Program
The Internship program is
for college graduates or mature college undergraduates. Preference
is given to students majoring in Sports Management or Business and
receiving credit for the internship.
Time
Commitment: Year Round
Hours Per Week: As we know, there are no set hours per week in the
sports industry. The hours per week will vary, but in the long run,
it will be 20 to 40 hours per week
Location: East Field Stadium in Glens Falls, New York
Salary: Vary according to situation.
Essential

the non-baseball operations of the Golden Eagles. Will be involved
in all aspects of a sports team and how it operates, under the
supervision of the General Manager.

special events, such as Promotional activities with media
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Prepare for the season by creating a promotional schedule
• Plan on-field fan events
• Organize game day operations
• Collect gift certificates and prizes for raffle and
on-field fan events
• Get sponsorships
• Participate in fund raising events
During the season:
• Manage
game day operations for 21 home games
• Carry out the promotions and fan events
• Assist in player support
• Will be game night staff at their team’s home games
• Design inserts for game programs

• Manage players’ community service

Golden Eagles 2008 In
Season Sports Internship Program
Preference is given to college
students majoring in Sports Management, Communications, or Business.
The time commitment is May 15
through August 10
The hours per week vary. In the
long run, it will be about 30 hours per week over the 12 weeks.
During the season, there is a
mandatory meeting one morning per week, plus one full day per week
in the office.
Our team Interns will manage the
non-baseball operations. The team intern will be involved in all
aspects of a sports team and how it operates, under supervision of
the team president and G.M.

Before opening day,
the Team Intern will prepare for the season by creating a promotions
schedule, planning the on field fan events, Organizing game day
operations, collecting gift certificates and prizes for raffles and
on field fan events
·
During the season,
the Team Interns will manage game day operations for their 21 home
games; carry out the promotions and fan events, an assist in player
support.
·
At season‘s end,
the Intern will complete sponsor appreciation.
