Sophomore Anthony
Giansanti has been selected MAAC baseball Player of the week as
released this afternoon by the MAAC office. Giansanti played a key
role in the Saints' pivotal sweep of MAAC foe Rider.
In Siena's weekend sweep, Giansanti (Montville, Conn./Montville)
batted .583, posted a multi-hit game in all three contests, scored
five runs, drove in two and stole two bases.
He was 3-for-5 with three runs scored in Siena's 10-1 game one
victory Saturday. He went 2-for-3 with a home run in a 4-2 win in
game two, and finished the series with a 2-for-4 effort and two
stolen bases in Sunday's 9-4 triumph.
On the week, he posted a 1.000 slugging percentage and did not
make an error in 12 chances, posting two outfield assists.
Giansanti has helped the Saints to wins in 13 of their last 15
games, a surge that has the team in the thick of the fight for a
MAAC Tournament berth.
Siena returns to action this weekend against MAAC foe Iona at
Siena Field in Loudonville.
