Jarrett Lukas   INF   University of Maine

Jarrett had a four hit game vs. New Jersey Tech with  a triple, one run and two RBI. He was 2-for-3 vs. Wagner and has raised his average in the last week from .286 to .362 by going 7-for-12 in his last three games. Jarrett was selected as the America East Conference Rookie of the Week last week, the second time he has been selected this spring season.  

Billy Barrett   RHP   University of Illinois  

Billy had a great outing in a contest vs. Southern Illinois . He pitched six innings and gave up seven hits, two runs, walked two and struck out two Saluki batters to get his first win of the season. The turning point in that start was when SIU loaded the bases in the fourth inning with no outs but Billy got a strikeout and an inning ending double play.  

Shane Davis   LHP   Canisius College  

Shane was selected as the Metro Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week. He threw his first complete game to beat Lemoyne 3-1, scattering five hits, one run, walked none and struck out three. Shane pitched his third consecutive complete game, a victory over Rider, allowing three runs, two earned, walked five and struck out four to raise his record to 6-0.  

Evan McDole   1B/OF   Northern Kentucky University  

Evan came back from a hand injury and contributing prominently in a four game sweep of Lewis. He went 7-for-16 on the weekend with seven RBI, six runs, a double and a home run. He raised his average up to .404 with the outburst.  

Ryan Schmidt   LHP   Northern Kentucky  

Ryan tied the NKU record for consecutive scoreless innings (28) and gained several more victories. He threw a complete game victory vs. Missouri S & T, throwing seven innings of scoreless baseball, giving up four hits, no walks and five strikeouts. Against Kentucky Wesleyan he pitched six innings of scoreless baseball once again, giving up four hits, walked four and struck out six. In his most recent stint vs. Lewis, he threw seven innings, giving up seven hits, two runs, walked three and struck out ten. His record is 5-0, he has an ERA of 1.00 and opposing hitters are batting .203 against his offerings.  

Luis Feliz   Center Field   Rutgers University  

Luis is hitting a team leading .338 with a resurgent offensive performance in the last several weeks. Against West Virginia , he was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double. He was 2-for-4 vs. Notre Dame with a double, and another 2-for-4 vs. Notre Dame with a stolen base.  

Will Hassett   RHP   Siena College  

Pitched a complete game victory against Hofstra. He threw seven innings and allowed just three hits and one run. Hofstra scored its only run on a bases loaded walk in the last inning.  

Nick McCoy   Catcher   University of San Diego  

Playing often, and well, he has been a catalyst for the Toreros of late. He was 2-for-3 vs. Harvard with a run and an RBI. In a West Coast Conference game vs. Gonzaga, Nick went 3-for-4 with two RBI and he has raised his average to the .268 mark on the season.  

Scott Denault   RHP   University of San Diego  

Three outings in relief of late. Pitched against Harvard throwing 2/3 of an inning giving up one hit and no runs, against Harvard he threw one inning with no hits or runs. In a WCC contest vs. Santa Clara , Scott pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up no hits. His ERA is at 4.50 and batters are hitting .214 against him.  

Michael Earley   INF   Indiana University  

Michael has raised his batting average from .323 to .354 in the last two weeks of play. In a Big Ten Series vs. Minnesota , Michael went 5-for-14 with at least one hit in each game. Against conference foe Illinois , he was 6-for-14 with two runs and three RBI. He went 3-for-4 in the series finale.  

George Lott   RHP   University of North Florida  

Initial start of redshirt freshman season after undergoing surgery last season. He pitched against the University of South Florida . He threw two innings giving up one hit, no runs, walked one and struck out two USF hitters.  

Tyler Lee   LHP   University of Cumberlands  

Tyler threw a complete game victory vs. Pikeville giving up five hits, no runs, two walks and six strikeouts. In his next outing vs. Lindsey Wilson he threw a complete game win 4-1, giving up four hits, walked three and struck out six. On April 6th, Tyler pitched another complete game 3-1 victory allowing only three hits, walked one and struck out eight. He has a 7-1 record, a 1.94 ERA and batters are hitting .238 against his offerings.  

Blake Nation   RHP   Georgia Southern University  

Blake has become the closer for the Eagles in the 2008 season and has garnered three saves in the last several weeks. Save # 2 was against Western Carolina , # 3 was also against WCU while # 4 was against the University of North Florida . He has a team leading  ERA of 3.38, and also leads the team with 13 appearances.  

Matt Quevedo   RHP   University of South Florida  

Pitched six and 2/3 innings in a Big East Conference game vs. Cincinnati , giving up eight hits, five runs (three earned) walked one and struck out five and got the loss in a 5-4 loss. Matt was very effective in a start vs. Georgetown, throwing six and 1/3 innings, giving up only two hits, two runs, walked three and struck our five. He retired 10 consecutive batters after allowing a leadoff hit. Through his first six innings he faced one batter over the minimum. Matt leads the USF staff with a 3.42 ERA in conference games and has a 4.24 overall ERA. He leads in innings pitched and is # 2 in strikeouts.  

Junior Carlin   LHP/OF   University of South Florida  

Demonstrated his two way abilities of late with starts in left and right field and several relief appearances on the mound. In a crucial extra innings win vs. West Virginia in Big East action, Junior pitched two and 2/3 innings of late and extra innings relief, giving up only one hit, walked two and struck out two and got the win, his initial college victory. In a mid-week game vs. Central Florida Junior got the start in left field and went 2-for-5 with three runs, a double and two RBI. Against North Florida , he threw one and 2/3 innings of middle relief, giving up one hit, no runs, walked none and struck out two. He came in during the fourth inning with the bases loaded and two outs and struck out the hitter to end the threat.  

Jonathan Koscso   SS/2B    University of South Florida

 Has started every game as a freshman. He went 1-for-2 with two runs, one RBI, two hit by pitches and a steal on 4/5 vs. West Virginia . Jon was 2-for-3 with four runs scored 0n 3/21 vs. Cincinnati . In a midweek game vs. Florida Gulf Coast he was 1-for-3 with an RBI single in the 6th inning to give USF a 2-1 lead. Jon is hitting .247 with three doubles, 13 RBI and has a remarkable 13 hit by pitch (USF leads the nation).  

Curt Courtwright   SS   Missouri State University

 Curt has played in every game this season. He had a good offensive performance vs. Creighton on 3/21, going 2-for-3 with one run and three RBI. He singled to left field in the 4th to drive in two runs and singled up the middle in the 8th, driving in a run in a 9-8 MSU win.  

Chad Stang   OF   Midland College

  Chad was hitting .333 through 35 games with 12 doubles, three triples, four home runs and 32 RBI. He had a clutch two run double with two outs in the last inning to win a 3-2 game against Odessa College . He slapped the 1-2 pitch to right center field to plate the tying and winning runs.  

Eric Arnett   RHP   University of Indiana

 Pitched an excellent game in a Big Ten Series finale vs. Minnesota on 3/30. He threw seven innings of five hit ball, giving up three runs, walking three and striking out five. He allowed only one run through seven innings before departing after two hitters in the 8th. The outing was the longest of his intercollegiate career. Eric struck out the side in the second inning of that contest.  

Ethan Wilson   INF   University of Indiana

 Ethan has made a remarkable recovery from surgery after missing the spring, summer and fall seasons. He has been starting at 3B on a regular basis and is beginning to fulfill the great potential that the Hoosiers foresaw in the recruiting process. He is batting .245 with four doubles, one homer and 12 RBI. He had a pair of hits including a crucial leadoff double on 3/30 vs. Minnesota . He was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI vs. Illinois on 4/6.  

Adam Veres   RHP   St. Petersburg College

 The University of North Florida signee had a good outing vs. Hillsborough Community College on 3/26. He pitched eight innings giving up seven hits, three earned runs, walked two and struck out eight HCC batters. Adam has thrown 65 innings this spring at SPC, has a 4-1 record and has chalked up 65 strikeouts. His ERA is 4.846 in 14 appearances. In his most recent outing on 4/7 vs. Polk CC, he threw 5 2/3 innings, allowing five hits, two runs, walked two and struck out six.
