For the second consecutive week, Georgia Southern
University’s Chris
Shehan (Strasburg, PA/Lampeter-Strasburg) was named the
Southern Conference ‘Player of the Week’. Shehan led the
Eagles to a 4-0 mark last week, including a sweep to start
league play.
Shehan
hit .579 (11-of-19) over the past four contests with seven runs
scored and 11 RBI. He posted a .842 slugging and .636 on-base
percentage. Shehan recorded nine of his 11 RBI against
Western Carolina
, batting .643 in the sweep of the Catamounts. He hit his second
career grand slam and scored six run in the series. During
game two he drove in a career-high seven runs.
Overall
the junior right fielder leads the Eagles (14-8 overall, 3-0
SoCon) with: a .466 batting average, 33 runs scored, nine
doubles, nine home runs, 37 RBI, .898 slugging percentage, 19
walks and .577 on-base percentage.
Georgia
Southern will take the week off
before resuming SoCon play at the
College
of
Charleston
this weekend. First pitch on Friday night (March 28) is
scheduled for 6 p.m.
