Ryan Schmidt   LHP   University of Northern Kentucky

 Ryan was selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week based on his two hit shutout against the defending conference champions. In the 1-0 victory, he struck out six and walked two. In a previous outing vs. Quincy , Ryan threw seven innings of shutout baseball, walked one and struck out two. His season stats indicate a 1.12 ERA, giving up 16 hits in 24 innings while holding opposing batters to a .203 batting average.

 Shane Davis   LHP   Canisius College

 Shane was selected as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week. He has a 3-0 record after three starts with an ERA of 3.52. He has allowed just three runs in his last 14 innings for a 1.84 ERA. In his most recent outing, he went six innings and gave up eight hits, two runs, one earned, walked one and struck out one batter vs. Mount. St. Mary’s. The Griffs Are 11-1 with six consecutive wins.

 Matt Quevedo   RHP   University of South Florida

Matt pitched a gem in the Big East opening series vs. Seton Hall in Tampa . He threw six innings of shutout baseball, walked none and struck out six….including five batters in a row in the 4th and 5th innings. Matt’s ERA is at 3.97 and has given up 20 hits in 22+ innings with only seven walks and 20 strikeouts. Opposing batters are batting only .250 against his offerings.

Adam Veres   RHP   St. Petersburg College  

Adam threw a masterpiece in his most recent outing vs. Pasco Hernando Community College in conference play. He pitched eight innings of a 4-1 victory and gave up only three singles….all infield hits…gave up an unearned run, walked one and struck out seven batters. He presently has a 3-1 record, a rapidly decreasing 4.75 ERA and has struck out 48 batters in 47 innings.  

Tyler Lee   LHP   University of the Cumberlands  

Tyler had a good outing vs. West Virginia Tech, throwing a seven inning complete game in a 5-1 victory. He walked none and struck out three to raise his record to 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA. He has held opposing batters to a .255 average  

Scott Denault   RHP   University of San Diego  

The Golden Eagle returnee struck out the only three hitters he faced in the ninth inning in a recent game vs. Hawaii Hilo. He has held opposing hitters to a paltry .143 batting average thus far.  

Nick McCoy   Catcher   University of San Diego  

Big contributor to the Toreros lineup of late. Nick went 1-for-2 with a clutch RBI single in the 7th inning vs. Hawaii Hilo in a 4-2 win. He was 3-for-4 vs. Hawaii Hilo with a run and three RBI. Against Oklahoma State he went 1-for-4 with a run in a 7-2 Toreros win. Nick has raised his average up to .273 with his recent outburst at the plate.

Evan McDole   First Basemen   University of Northern Kentucky  

Leading the NKU Norsemen with a .375 batting average. Tied for the team lead in hits with 15, has three doubles to lead the team and his .525 slugging percentage leads as well.  

Eric Arnett   RHP   Indiana University  

Eric got his first start and win vs. New Mexico State . He threw five innings and gave up one hit and one earned run. He struggled with his command, throwing 116 pitches and walked nine opposing batters. He has a 4.35 ERA on the season.

Michael Earley   IF/OF   Indiana University  

Batting .323 through 14 games with two doubles, one home run and six RBI. He had a 1-for-2 vs. Fresno State , a two RBI single in the eighth inning, a 2-for-3 game vs. Gonzaga, and a 1-for-3 vs. Fresno State with a two run homer in the 4th inning.  

Curt Courtwright   Shortstop   Missouri State University  

Every day starter for the Bears. Hitting .176 through 16 games. Curt hit a three run home run in the eighth inning vs. Northern Colorado , had a two out, two run single vs. Northern Colorado in a 5-3 win. He was 1-for-3 with an RBI vs. Oklahoma State . He had his average up to .286 on March 9th.His fielding percentage is at .931.  

Luis Feliz   Outfielder   Rutgers University  

Batting .317 through 14 games with four doubles, and seven RBI. He went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored, a double and a stolen base vs. Iowa . Luis was 2-for-5 vs. Iowa in another contest and was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI and a double vs. New Jersey Tech. He was 2-for-3 vs. Texas A & M with an RBI.  

Jonathan Koscso   Second Basemen   University of South Florida  

Started in all 18 games. Hitting .258 presently, down from a seasons high of .333. He has two doubles and seven RBI. Against Savannah State he was 0-for-1 but had three RBI. He had a sac fly, two walks and two hit by pitches in the game. He had a game tying ground ball in the bottom of the ninth to send the game into extra innings.  

Junior Carlin   LHP/OF   University of South Florida  

Excellent frosh prospect got his first career start vs. University of Oklahoma . Pitched extremely well for two innings but had a rough third inning against a potent Sooners lineup, giving up five runs in his three inning stint.  

Chad Stang  Outfielder   Midland College  

Freshman from British Columbia has been impressive this spring season. He is batting at a .370 clip, has played in every game, leads the team with 30 hits, nine doubles, two homers and is second on the team with 20 RBI. He is highly ranked in every offensive category for the Western Junior College Athletic Conference, Region V Baseball.  

Blake Nation   RHP   Georgia Southern University  

Blake has been effective out of the bullpen this spring. He has the only save on the staff, and presently his ERA is 3.21, the second lowest on the team. Against the University of Michigan , he threw 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief and gave up two hits, walked none and struck out one.  

Richard Anaya   RHP   Florida Atlantic University  

Made his debut as a starter in a game vs. Cornell, throwing four innings and giving up three hits and one earned run in a non-decision outing. He has a 2.25 ERA and batters have a .214 average against his offerings.  

Kyle Forney   RHP   Florida Atlantic  

Kyle has come out of the bullpen on five occasions this spring. He pitched two innings in relief of Anaya vs. Cornell and got his initial FAU win by throwing two innings of hitless relief while walking one and striking out two.
