Eagles on Rivals.com's Nation's Top Players List
Three
Golden Eagles, Mark Kelly, Nate Recknagel, and Ryan Conan are presently on the Rivals.com National Top Player's
List. Rivals.com ranks the top 15 college players by position each
week. Mark Kelly (GF '07) was a preseason choice for catcher at # 10
and continues to produce to maintain the list. Mark is presently
ranked #6 in the nation for the Southern Illinois Salukis. Through 15
games Mark is batting .333 with 4 doubles and 1 HR. He has 15 RBI's.
Nate
Recknagel (GF '06) from Michigan has also been ranked on this list
since preseason. On the first list Recknagel was listed as the #13
ranked 1st basemen in the country. He is still presently ranked in
this spot when the new list came out on March 13, 2008. Recknagel is
presently batting .393 with 2 doubles and 7 HR. He is pounding the
ball with a .804 slugging % and 22 RBI's through 15 games.
Just
above Recknagel in the #12 rank in Santa Clara's Ryan Conan (GF '06).
Conan broke into the list on March 11, 2008. Conan has started his
senior season in an impressive manner. Conan leads the Broncos in
batting from the fourth position in the line up with a .380 average
through 17 games. Conan has 6 doubles with 12 RBIs.
All
three players should be watched all season long and should receive
several telephone call from Major League teams. Watch for their names
during the MLB Draft on June 5, 2008.
