Eagles stay alive
NYCBL semifinal deciding game with Little Falls tonight

Staff Report

LITTLE FALLS -- Mike Konstanty provided all the offense, and Brian Moran did the rest as Glens Falls beat Little Falls 4-0 to even their best-of-three NYCBL Eastern Division Semifinal series at one game apiece.

The deciding game will be played today at East Field at 7 p.m. The winner will face Saratoga in the Eastern finals, which begin on Thursday.

Konstanty, who plays at UAlbany, hit a first-inning grand slam and Moran made it hold up, throwing eight scoreless innings. He allowed four hits and walked two.

For the second straight game, the Golden Eagles relied on the long ball. Seven of the eight runs the Eagles have scored in the series have come via the long ball.

But unlike Monday, when the Eagles (35-7) hit three solo shots, Konstanty connected with men on base. Jake Owens reached on an error to start the inning, Dan DeGeorge walked, and Jake Shaffer's bunt single loaded the bases.

After a force out at the plate, Konstanty connected. The Eagles scratched out just one more hit after the first.

Tom Meagher pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
