Eagles washed out in Geneva

Published on 6/30/2006

The Glens Falls Golden Eagles' game in Geneva on Thursday night was rained out. It was the Golden Eagles' second straight rainout -- Wednesday's home game against Little Falls was postponed, as well.

Glens Falls returns home today for a 7:05 p.m. New York Collegiate Baseball League game against the Saratoga Phillies at East Field. The game will feature "Save the Frostbite Night."

Glens Falls Mayor Roy Akins will throw out the honorary first pitch before the game.

Save the Frostbite Night will honor the Adirondack Frostbite ice hockey team and show support to bring hockey back to the Glens Falls area.

The Golden Eagles come into the game with a 12-5 record, after defeating Amsterdam 2-1 on Tuesday night. Saratoga (11-6) is coming off a 7-6 win over Amsterdam on Wednesday night.

The fireworks display scheduled for after tonight's game has been postponed until July 22 because of a scheduling conflict with the Little League. Instead, every fan entering East Field on July 22 will get a free ticket to the game as well as a free scoop of ice cream.
