NYCBL to re-align in 2006 season

The New York Collegiate Baseball League has now added three teams for the 2006 season and will re-align the divisions.

Elmira, Little Falls and Rochester have joined the league, while Plattsburgh, Mohawk Valley and Wayne County have folded.

The league will switch to a three-division alignment. The East Division will consist of Amsterdam, Glens Falls, Little Falls and Saratoga. The West Division features Allegany County, Bolivar, Elmira and Hornell. The newly created Central Division consists of Genesee Valley, Geneva, Rochester and Watertown.

Forty-four games will be played during the regular season, and an expanded playoff format adds another round of postseason play.
