Eagles win in extra innings

AMSTERDAM -- Infielder Shaun Hagey scored on Pat Ferguson's grounder in the top of the 13th inning to give the Glens Falls Golden Eagles a 2-1 victory over Amsterdam in a New York Collegiate Baseball League game on Tuesday.

Hagey led off the top of the inning on a walk and advanced to third base on an error.

Former Queensbury standout and sophomore at Cortland State pitcher Justin Mattes came in to pitch in the bottom of the 13th inning to get the win for the Eagles who improved to 6-16.

The Eagles next play today at Plattsburgh at 5 p.m.. The Saratoga Phillies will also play today at Watertown at 7 p.m..
