Eagles win 30th game
Staff Report
AMSTERDAM -- The Glens Falls Golden Eagles reached the 30-win mark Saturday with a 4-3 victory over Amsterdam.
Ryan Basham went 4-for-5 as the Eagles improved to 30-9.
The Eagles will host Watertown today in a doubleheader at East Field to finish off the regular season. They could be playing tonight for first place overall in the New York Collegiate Baseball League -- and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs -- depending on the outcome of other games in the league Saturday night.
Brad Beatty went 2-for-4 to lead the Eagles, who pounded out 11 hits. Joel Boeschen picked up the victory on the mound with six innings of solid work, and Shawn Ryan got the save.
The playoffs begin Monday.
