UTICA -- The Glens Falls Golden Eagles improved to 3-1 in the New York Collegiate Baseball League on Sunday with a 10-inning, 7-6 victory over the Mohawk Valley Cobras.
Mohawk Valley scored five times in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 6-5 lead. But Brad Beatty tied the game in the eighth inning for Glens Falls on a two-out single.
The game-winner for the Golden Eagles came after Terry Blunt walked, Will Groff sacrificed Blunt to second, and Ryan Basham singled with Blunt beating the throw to home plate.
Eric Lawson, Brad Beatty and Chris Carlson had one double each, and Stillwater resident Shawn Ryan picked up the save in the 10th inning for Glens Falls.
"We're going deep into our bullpen until things calm down a little bit." said Eagles head coach John Mayotte. "The close games are the ones we've really got to win."
Mohawk Valley drops to 2-2 in the league.
