The Golden Eagles will be hosting the Saratoga Phillies on June 17th
at 11:00 AM in order to allow student to come to the game as an
incentive for the Reading Program.. This Reading Program Game is free
to the students, teachers and chaperones.
The idea is to
have the classroom teachers setting goals and tracking the number of books/minutes
their
students read above and beyond their normal class room assignments
during the month of May. In June a player from the Golden Eagles would
come to the school and acknowledge the students that participated and
announce the name of the student that read the most in each
class during an assemble.
At regular home games, the Golden Eagles players are announced and
escort little league players onto the field. On June 17th ,
as the Golden Eagles players are announced, they will escort the
students that read the most in the class. As the member of their
class is announced, each class would stand up and be recognized.
Hopefully this program
would spring board the students into doing more reading over the
summer and create a habit that will continue.
Consider allowing the
elementary/middle school classes the opportunity to participate in the
reading program and to come to the game if it does not interfere with
testing. Our only request is to please give us numbers from the school
to ensure we have enough staff for the game.
If you have any questions, please contact the Golden Eagles at info@glensfallsgoldeneagles.com.
If there is any way the Golden Eagles may be able to help the school,
please send us your ideas. The Golden Eagles want to be a strong
community neighbor and to be involved with the schools.
